Square Enix has announced that a free NEO: The World Ends With You demo is out now on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch.

You will have the chance to experience the first two days of the Reapers’ Game, which will introduce you to protagonist Rindo, his friend Fret, and “many other stylish and memorable characters.”

Your time can be spent undertaking missions, starting your collection of pins that grant you different Psych and experimenting with the game’s frenetic combat as you battle against the mysterious Noise. The best part is that your progress in the campaign will transfer to the full game, for those that buy NEO: The World Ends With You on the same platform.

In the 3D action RPG, you play as Rindo and must once again battle for survival and unravel the mysteries that surround the deadly Reaper’s Game that he has been forced to take part in.

Modern Shibuya has been recreated in a comic-inspired style, and you will be able to enjoy the sights, sounds and culture of the bustling city while battling monsters and completing missions in an effort to change the fate that you have been handed.

The game’s initial reveal trailer had looked to showcase “the hip visual direction, 3D environments, gameplay and battle sequences, and amped-up soundtrack.”

That soundtrack comes from composer Takeharu Ishimoto (THRILL Inc.), and will accompany your adventure as you explore the city and compete to survive the Reapers’ Game and change the fate that you have been handed.

NEO: The World Ends With You will release at retail and on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 27th July 2021.
