Electronic Arts, Criterion Games and Stellar Entertainment have announced that Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered will soon see release on Nintendo Switch.

It comes to the portable home console with enhanced visuals and cross-platform asynchronous multiplayer competition powered by the game’s Autolog – which lets you seamlessly connect, compare and compete with your friends.

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered features the graphical enhancements of the world of Seacrest County, where the winding roads and exotic supercars offer an adrenaline-filled sense of speed.

The single-player Career mode seeing you race across the roads of Seacrest Country, whether that be in supercharged cop interceptors with access to tactical weaponry to bust their suspects or as elite racers who can level the playing field with counterattacks and defensive maneuvers.

The main downloadable content that was released for the game will also be included, adding an additional six hours of gameplay and more than 30 challenges.

That covers fan-favourite modes Armed and Dangerous and Lamborghini Untamed, along with new achievements, car colours, reduced hard stops, an updated photo mode and multiple quality of life updates. Post-launch, the developer will also add car wraps to open up more customisation options.

“Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit was ahead of its time when it released in 2010 as we built an automatic comparison and friend recommendation system in the game before that type of thing became a norm in today’s world,” explains Criterion Games vice president Matt Webster.

“Now, we’re delighted to be bringing that spirit of timeless racing competition back to new platforms and players where they can connect, compare and compete no matter what platform they’re on, even on the go this time with the Nintendo Switch. Fueled by Autolog and some of the world’s most desirable and classic supercars, this will create the most heart-pumping socially competitive racing experience.”

Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered will release for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 13th November 2020.
