As 2016 draws to a close, Niantic has shared that Trainers have racked up some impressive stats in Pokémon GO.

Back in September, the developer announced that Trainers had walked more than 4.6 billion kilometres since the location-based app had launched. Now, as of 7th December 2016, Trainers have collectively walked more than 8.7 billion kilometres.

That milestone can be compared to walking more than 200,000 times around Earth, which would take a commercial jetliner more than 1,000 years to cover the same distance.

Niantic has also shared that Trainers have caught more than 88 billion Pokémon, which works out to roughly be 533 million Pokémon a day!
