Merge Games has partnered with 11 bit studios to release Moonlight for Nintendo Switch at retail, the action-adventure RPG and shopkeeping sim.

When an archaeological excavation uncovers a set of Gates, the people were quick to realise that the ancient passages lead to different realms and dimensions. That soon saw Rynoka, a small commercial village, settle near the excavation site – a base from which brave and reckless adventurers could seek out treasures.

You play as Will in Moonlighter, an adventurous shopkeeper who secretly dreams of becoming a hero. In Rynoka, players can put items on sale – setting their price, managing your gold reserves, recruiting assistants, upgrading the shop, and protecting it from those that want to steal your wares.

“Moonlighter is going to be huge. The RPG and rogue-like elements framed around the juxtaposition of central character’s lifestyle make for [a] perfect console game,” shared Merge Games managing director Luke Keighran. “We are excited to have partnered with 11 bit studios, working with them is a delight.”

11 bit studios business development manager Piotr Bajraszewski adds: “Fans are crying out for physical editions of these games. Merge Games was the ideal partner to help us get this done! We’re super excited for people to have the option to buy them a retail box… we’re looking forward to including them in our personal collections too!”

Moonlighter will release at retail and on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch in May 2018.
