Hyper Games has confirmed a release date for Moomintroll: Winter’s Warmth, which is coming to both Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch.
From the creators of Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley, this next game set in Tove Jansson’s beloved universe will follow the loveable Moomin on a heartwarming story-rich journey as he wakes early from hibernation to a land covered in frost.
“When Moomintroll unexpectedly wakes up early from his winter hibernation, he finds himself completely alone for the first time, in a world he barely recognises,” the story outline reads.
“The familiar landscape of Moominvalley is now cloaked in the frosty veil of the Lady of the Cold. Initially seeking someone to care for him and longing to banish winter, young Moomintroll reluctantly embarks on a journey into the unknown, learning to forge new friendships and help those in greater need than himself.”
While not a direct sequel to their first game, this story-driven cosy puzzle adventure can be seen as “a spiritual successor with many similarities.”
The developer has outlined the game’s key features, which include:

Moomintroll: Winter’s Warmth will be released digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch worldwide on 27 April 2026.
