Capcom has announced that Monster Hunter X has shipped more than three million units across Japan in just one month, with such number including download cards and Nintendo eShop sales.

That success sees cumulative sales for the series surpass more than 36 million units as of 24th December 2015, with Monster Hunter having first launched way back in 2004.

The Nintendo 3DS exclusive introduces new elements such as Hunter Arts and Hunting Styles, which can be combined with 14 weapons to differentiate your approach. It also adds a new Nyanter Mode, where players can adventure on quests as a dutiful Felyne Palico.

Looking to the future, Capcom will host Monster Hunter Festa 16 at five major cities in Japan to continue to generate and retain interest in their blockbuster series.
