Monster Hunter X, or Monster Hunter Cross, was announced at Capcom’s Monster Hunter’s Gathering 2015 event in Japan today.

The Nintendo 3DS exclusive has been developed with the engine used for Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, although will introduce a “flashy action style” normally attributed to the Frontier series.

It closed out today’s Japan-only Nintendo Direct, with the game’s reveal trailer painting a picture in presenting the more fast-paced combat, new and returning monsters that you’ll face, as well as the locations that you’ll journey through on your adventure.

Monster Hunter X will release exclusively for Nintendo 3DS this winter in Japan.
