Capcom has confirmed a release date for Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, which is coming exclusively to Nintendo Switch.

Playing as a young Monster Rider who can use a Kinship Stone to form strong bonds with the monsters that you encounter, the story-based role-playing game promises “a unique new experience with a rich storyline featuring charming characters, challenging quests and friendly encounters with familiar monsters from the Monster Hunter series.”

The Monster Hunter Stories sequel will once again see you gain experience and improve your skills, helping you to form deeper connections with your monsters. You can then set out “on memorable adventures filled with dramatic events and heartwarming friendships as the epic tale unfolds.”

The self-proclaimed Felyne hero Navirou will make a return, and Capcom has teased that the upcoming game will have cooperative multiplayer quests.

The Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin Deluxe Edition will include “Razewing layered armor sets and a Nergigante-inspired hairstyle for players, the Kuan Coat outfit for your Wyverian companion Ena, two new outfits for Navirou, and two sticker sets depicting the various companions players will encounter through their journey.”

There will also be a Kamura maiden outfit for Ena as a pre-order bonus, while those that buy the Ena, Razewing Ratha and Tsukino amiibo figures can unlock three different sets of layered armor and daily bonuses. Finally, those with Monster Hunter Rise save data will be able to unlock the Kamura Garb layered armor for their character. More information on pricing and preorders will be revealed at a later date.

Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin will release exclusively for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 9th July 2021.
