Capcom can once again celebrate success with Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate’s Japanese launch, the Nintendo 3DS exclusive racking up 1,446,289 million sales in just two days at retail.

That outpaces LEVEL-5’s runaway success with Youkai Watch 2 back in July, and Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS which opened with 944,644 sales. Although those two games continue to sell strongly, rounding out the top three in the chart.

It was a big week for hardware too, with the New Nintendo 3DS LL and New Nintendo 3DS launching – selling 164,756 and 70,050 units respectively. Coupled with sales of the standard 3DS LL and 3DS models, that saw Nintendo shift a whopping 261,873 units of their trusty handheld in total.
