Capcom have proudly confirmed that Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, which will be the first handheld entry in the series to boast online multiplayer, will allow cross-region play.

That will see those across Europe and North America will be able to hunt together whether playing online or local multiplayer.

The publisher has been slowly trickling information for the 3DS exclusive over the past few months, revealing new monsters as well as the Clockwork Contraption and The Emperor’s Speech as winners of their weapon design contest – both now appearing in-game.

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate will release exclusively for Nintendo 3DS across Europe and North America in early 2015.
