Shigeru Miyamoto has dismissed reports that Nintendo are seeking to create a revised version of the Nintendo 3DS, instead revealing that the company is already discussing concepts for a successor.

“I really feel like I’m satisfied with the 3DS hardware as it is. I feel like it’s the best for this generation,” Miyamoto discussed with IGN. “What we’re thinking about right now is probably going to be for a future generation of handheld.”

You shouldn’t interpret this as coming to fruition any time soon though, as Miyamoto was sure to make it clear that there is still much to be accomplished with the Nintendo 3DS.
