After announcing the company’s third-quarter financial results, Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima briefly spoke with investors and shared that prelaunch registration for Miitomo would begin soon.
The “free-to-start type communication application for smart devices” was announced in October, but was met with a negative reaction as Nintendo’s share price fell by 9 percent.
Positioned to build subscribers to their new My Nintendo membership service, Miitomo will invite players to create their own Mii after which they are asked questions, to which their responses will be shared with registered friends.
Beyond this, The Wall Street Journal report that Kimishima confirmed that their second mobile application will be a game that uses a character that “fans are very familiar with.”
