Nintendo has announced that Miitomo has been downloaded more than one million times in Japan, a number that they have reached in just three days.
Their communication app had been released on Thursday 17th March, with market research firm App Annie already taking note that it didn’t take long before it had dethroned Line in the social networking app chart.
While users are neither required to have a Nintendo Account or be a My Nintendo member, Nintendo is hoping that their approach to their planned smart device apps releasing this year will allow them to reach an initial milestone of 100 million members worldwide on the rewards service.
The new rewards service, which has replaced Club Nintendo, tasks members with completing My Nintendo Missions to earn Platinum or Gold Points that can be redeemed for My Nintendo Rewards. Those rewards include 3DS HOME Menu themes, discount codes and digital downloads, such as PICROSS The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.
