Metroid Prime Visual Retrospective Book Delayed Into October

Piggyback has announced that the release date for its Metroid Prime 1-3: A Visual Retrospective art book has been delayed.

The 212-page hardcover art book has been created in collaboration with Nintendo and Retro Studios, the art book will showcase concept drawings, sketches and illustrations from Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, and Metroid Prime Remastered.

Spanning 20 years of game development, the book will offer an extensive range of behind-the-scenes, high-quality artwork and exclusive commentary from Nintendo producer Kensuke Tanabe and Retro Studios.

The publisher has outlined the book’s key features, which include:

  • Covers Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, and Metroid Prime Remastered
  • Includes a foreword by Metroid Prime producer Kensuke Tanabe
  • Features a vast array of high-quality art and sketches from the developers
  • Comes with exclusive Retro Studios-penned introductions to each game
  • Dozens of producers’ notes offer commentaries, insights, and anecdotes on the featured artwork
  • Stitch-bound, with a lavish cloth hardcover featuring an etched Samus metallic foil, and printed on high-quality art paper

Metroid Prime 1-3: A Visual Retrospective: The Official Art and Making of Metroid Prime 1-3 will be released at retailers worldwide on 28 October 2025.
