Metroid Blast revealed as Nintendo Land attraction

Metroid Blast has been confirmed as the latest Nintendo Land attraction, with details emerging from the October issue of Game Informer.

The attraction sees each Mii character dress in Samus’ signature Varia Suit, with one player flying her ship using the Wii U GamePad. With no radar available, the Wii MotionPlus wielding players objective is to then shoot down the ship using whatever means necessary.

The lava-coated Norfair map has been shown, and includes a mechanical Kraid that players can grapple up to.

Additionally, the magazine also revealed Balloon Trip: Breeze as another attraction.

This sees players navigate their way through side-scrolling levels, delivering packages along the way, each filled with obstacles ranging from electrified spikes, crazy birds and hungry fish. To steer yourself clear of these, you’ll use the Wii U GamePad to draw gusts of wind that will allow you to direct your Mii character.

As with Donkey Kong’s Crash Course, the Wii U GamePad provides a zoomed-in view, whereas the TV screen shows the complete level at a glance.
