Nintendo has shared a new trailer for Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe, which will release on Nintendo Switch later this month.

This introduces you to Merry Magoland, an “out-of-this-world destination” where up to four players will be able to participate in subgame-based attractions. Promising “a grand ol’ time,” this will include subgames such as Bomb Rally, Checkerboard Chase, Egg Catcher, Samurai Kirby and new additions like Magolor’s Tome Trackers.

HAL Laboratory has remastered the 2011 Wii classic – which was known as Kirby’s Adventure Wii in Europe – for Nintendo Switch.

After Magolor’s ship crashlands on Planet Popstar, you will have the chance to float and fight alongside friends locally on the same system to recover the missing pieces.

In this platforming adventure for up to four players, each player can play as a Kirby or one of his iconic friends such as King Dedede, Meta Knight and Bandana Waddle Dee. With the power to copy your enemies’ abilities, you can attack with a sword, wield a whip, float with a parasol and more.

The Festival Copy Ability makes a return from 2018’s Kirby Star Allies, whereas Sand and Mecha have been added as brand new Copy Abilities. Sand can be used “to shift sand into a variety of shapes, from a fist to a castle, and take on even the toughest foes,” whereas Mecha lets you become a robot and fly through the sky – “attacking from a distance with your cannon or up close with powerful punches.”

Kirby’s Return To Dream Land Deluxe will release at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 24th February 2023.
