Mega Victreebel Revealed For Pokémon Legends Z-A

The Pokémon Company International has revealed Mega Victreebel in a new trailer for Pokémon Legends Z-A.

In this found footage-inspired trailer, we see two people investigate a mysteriously sweet scent coming from a building. With this video file referred to as The Case of the Sweet Scent Incident, their investigation leads to a local Trainer training their Victreebel whose acid was the source of the “Sweet Scent.”

The Flycatcher Pokémon is Grass and Poison-type, with a height of 14’9″ (4.5 m) and weighing 276.7 lbs. (125.5 kg).

“The volume of this Pokémon’s acid has increased due to Mega Evolution, filling its mouth,” The Pokémon Company International explain. “If it’s not careful, the acid will overflow and spill out.”

Set in Lumiose City, where an urban redevelopment plan is underway to shape the city into a place where humans and Pokémon can co-exist, in Pokémon Legends Z-A you will have the chance to befriend either Chikorita, Tepig or Totodile, who will become your first partner Pokémon.

There is a hands-on demo of the game that is playable at gamescom this week, which is now taking place at the Koelnmesse in Cologne until Sunday 24 August 2025.

Pokémon Legends Z-A will be released at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 worldwide on 16 October 2025. Pre-orders have opened on the My Nintendo Store, with the retailer offering physical pre-order bonuses.
