Mega Man Returns As Capcom Establishes Mobile Business Division

Capcom has announced that they have established a “Mobile Business Division,” in a move that sees the company reorganise their mobile operations.

This comes in response to analysts expecting the mobile games market to grow to $37.4 billion worldwide by 2019, from $27.5 billion in 2015. Capcom therefore see it as an integral part to their growth strategy, and are looking to produce hit titles be “aggressively utilising” the company’s popular IP.

Capcom plan to release four titles in the fiscal year ending 31st March 2017, which will namely use brands such as Monster Hunter, Sengoku Basara and Mega Man.

With the Beeline and Capcom brands now integrated, that will allow their development and operational experience to be shared and faster decisions to be made within the new division. Therefore, Beeline Interactive Japan Inc. has been renamed Capcom Mobile Co., Ltd.

Capcom will look to license successful Japanese titles in Asia, with the hope that it will expand their revenue in the region.
