SNK and Capcom have treated Mega Man: Battle and Fighters to a surprise western release on Nintendo Switch.

Originally released for the Neo Geo Pocket Color in Japan back in 2000, it was a compilation that let you experience the arcade releases Mega Man: The Power Battle and Mega Man 2: The Power Fighters portably and had never been made available to a western audience until now.

The publisher warns that the “product contains only the Japanese version” and that trading functions have been disabled compared to the original release, but you will have the chance to play as Proto Man, Bass and Duo who each offer their own unique playstyle.

You will be able to take on 40 boss characters from the original Mega Man through to Mega Man 7, once again working to put an end to Dr. Wily’s plan to secure world domination. Character data can be obtained randomly by defeating enemies, with 36 types to gather so that you can complete your own personal database.

Mega Man: Battle and Fighters is now available digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch.
