The Pokémon Company International has revealed Mega Hawlucha in a new trailer for Pokémon Legends Z-A.
This latest Mega Evolution was revealed in an animated Full Match: Hawlucha vs. Machamp! trailer, in which it was teased that we would see “the mega matchup of the millennium.”
The Wrestling Pokémon is Fighting and Flying Type, with a height of 3’3″ (1 m) and weighing 55.1 lbs. (25 kg).
“Bulked up by Mega Evolution, it uses its muscles to take hit after hit from opponents’ moves and flex its own strength,” a press release to accompany the reveal shares. “After luring its opponent into attacking, it retaliates to make them flinch before diving at them using its signature move, Flying Press, to aim for victory.”
Set in Lumiose City, where an urban redevelopment plan is underway to shape the city into a place where humans and Pokémon can co-exist, in Pokémon Legends Z-A you will have the chance to befriend either Chikorita, Tepig or Totodile, who will become your first partner Pokémon.
Pokémon Legends Z-A will be released at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 worldwide on 16 October 2025. Pre-orders have opened on the My Nintendo Store, with the retailer offering physical pre-order bonuses.
