Mega Evolution is making a return Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon, The Pokémon Company has confirmed.
Pokémon that were able to Mega Evolve in Pokémon Omega Ruby, Pokémon Alpha Sapphire, Pokémon X, and Pokémon Y will be able to do so in the Nintendo 3DS exclusives, as long as the player possesses the required Mega Stone.
The Mega Stones may be received from characters in the game, such as Dexio, or purchased from special shops.
There are two conditions that must be met for Mega Evolution to occur. Trainers must firstly wear a special item called a Key Stone, while their Pokémon must hold a specific Mega Stone for their species. Secondly, a Trainer must have a strong bond with his or her Pokémon in order for the two items to resonate with each other. As before, Mega Evolution can only be triggered once per battle.
Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon will release exclusively for Nintendo 3DS in North America, Australia and New Zealand on November 18th, and in Europe on November 23rd.
