The Pokémon Company International has revealed Mega Dragonite, shown in a new gameplay trailer for Pokémon Legends Z-A that was shared in today’s Pokémon Presents broadcast.
“Mega Dragonite is a newly discovered Mega-Evolved Pokémon with distinctive Dragonair-like features, including wings on its head and a pearl on its tail,” the company explains in its press release. “Mega Dragonite can also fly faster and farther than ever before.”
Set in Lumiose City, where an urban redevelopment plan is underway to shape the city into a place where humans and Pokémon can co-exist, in Pokémon Legends Z-A you will have the chance to befriend either Chikorita, Tepig or Totodile, who will become your first partner Pokémon.
It was recently announced that a hands-on demo of the game will be playable at gamescom 2025, which will once again take place at the Koelnmesse in Cologne from Wednesday 20 – Sunday 24 August 2025.
Pokémon Legends Z-A will be released at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 worldwide on 16 October 2025. Pre-orders have opened on the My Nintendo Store, with the retailer offering physical pre-order bonuses.
