We have been living by the code of Shovelry for some time now, but even we were surprised when it was announced that Shovel Knight would make a cameo appearance in Yooka-Laylee.
With the spiritual successor to Banjo-Kazooie nearing release, we can now see the quirky encounter between the band of characters in-game.
That sees Shovel Knight realise that he has gone on such a grand adventure that he has ended up in the wrong game. Revealing that a giant jewel is hidden in a nearby temple, he promises to reveal the secret to succeeding in any adventure with Yooka and Laylee.
That secret? “All you need is a map and the thirst for adventure!” Rewarding the duo with a Pagie, Yooka and Laylee set out to continue their quest.
Yooka-Laylee will release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch later this year.
