The Pokémon Company International have revealed that you will have the chance to meet Mr. Windychu or Ms. Wavychu in Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves, news that was shared alongside today’s Pokémon Presents.
It’s unclear what role these special Pikachu will play in the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 exclusives, or when we will have the chance to learn more about them.
We do know that Browt, Pombon and Gecqua are the starter Pokémon that you have to choose between on your adventures.
“Developed by Game Freak, the Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves games are the newest entries in the Pokémon RPG series and are scheduled for release in 2027 on the Nintendo Switch 2 system. “These new titles feature an open world to explore, with beautiful windswept islands and a vast ocean with glittering waves,” The Pokémon Company International explain in a press release.
“Trainers will play as the main character of this adventure, where they will have a different outfit depending on the version they are playing. Players will then choose their first partner Pokémon – either Browt, the Bean Chick Pokémon; Pombon, the Puppy Pokémon; or Gecqua, the Water Gecko Pokémon – before setting off on their journey.”
Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves will be released at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2 worldwide in 2027.
