It is likely that you will have spotted the mysterious feline while inking your turf in the Splatoon 2 Global Testfire, but Nintendo has now introduced Li’l Judd.
The adorable newcomer will help Judd judge turf area at a quick glance to determine who has won each round, although it is unclear where he has come from given that Judd had been cryogenically frozen 10,000 years earlier when the world was flooded.
“Breaking news! We’ve confirmed the identity of the furry creature seen previously in both video footage and the recent Testfire event! Ready for it? Everyone, meet Li’l Judd!” the Squid Research Lab enthuses.
“Okay, I’ll be the first to admit he’s adorable, but from what we’ve been able to observe, he’s gunning for Judd’s spot as premier Turf War judge like a bloodthirsty tiger crouching in the jungle underbrush. The details of his origins are still shrouded in mystery, but rest assured our research on this fuzzy subject will continue.”
Splatoon 2 will release exclusively on Nintendo Switch worldwide in Summer 2017.
