Dotemu and Tribute Games have revealed that Master Splinter will be a playable character in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, which is coming to Nintendo Switch.

His calm, thoughtful nature makes him more collected than most of his green pupils, but his mastery of ninja arts ensures that he’s a formidable powerhouse. He dishes out particularly powerful attacks with his trusty staff and wide-reaching special ninja moves, bashing through groups of enemies as efficiently as the Turtles chowing down on a pizza.

In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, after Bebop and Rocksteady assault Channel 6 and steal “super gnarly devices” to support Krang and Shredder’s latest twisted plan, the heroes in a half shell must battle across a righteous range of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles locations such as Manhattan, Coney Island and Dimension X.

Taking inspiration from their iconic 1987 design, in this side-scrolling action game the Turtles must unleash their radical special moves and combos to bash their enemies into submission.

With the developer looking to deliver “a bodacious celebration of classic TMNT beat-em-ups with its own modern touches,” the game’s lively battles will be backed by original music from composer and arranger Tee Lopes who has previously worked on Sonic Mania, League of Legends and Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom among others.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge will release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide in 2022.
