Dotemu and Tribute Games have shared the opening animation to Marvel Cosmic Invasion, which is out on both Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch next week.
“The animation’s hand-drawn action is the perfect chance to get reacquainted with Marvel Cosmic Invasion’s 15-fighter playable roster, which boasts all-time greats like Spider-Man, Wolverine and Storm as well as surprise inclusions of deep cut favorites like Nova and Phyla-Vell,” the publisher explained in a press release. “Watch our heroes assemble below to defeat the most menacing band of Super Villains our galaxy has faced yet.”
In Marvel Cosmic Invasion, the immortal Super Villain Annihilus has launched an unprecedented attack across the galaxy, threatening all life as we know it. Fighters both Earth-born and cosmic must join forces against the deadly Annihilation Wave, brawling their way through the streets of New York City to the depths of the Negative Zone to foil Annihilus’ vow to spread death across the cosmos.
You will choose and control your own team of two characters, tagging between them mid-fight with the Cosmic Swap system to capitalise on their distinct superpowers and special attacks to deal devastating damage.
With support for four-player drop-in/drop-out local and online co-op with crossplay, you can unlock stellar power-ups and rewards while experimenting with different duos and bashing your way through locales and nemeses from the Marvel universe.
The publisher has outlined the game’s key features, which include:

Marvel Cosmic Invasion will be released digitally on the Nintendo eShop for both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 worldwide on 1 December 2025.
