Dotemu and Tribute Games have confirmed that Marvel Cosmic Invasion is in development for Nintendo Switch 2, news that was shared in this week’s Nintendo Direct: Nintendo Switch 2 presentation.
The immortal Super Villain Annihilus has launched an unprecedented attack across the galaxy, threatening all life as we know it. Fighters both Earth-born and cosmic must join forces against the deadly Annihilation Wave, brawling their way through the streets of New York City to the depths of the Negative Zone to foil Annihilus’ vow to spread death across the cosmos.
This classic arcade-style beat ’em up will star an incredible array of characters that span Marvel’s golden eras, with the first set of playable characters from the roster revealed as Captain America, Wolverine, Spider-Man, Storm, Phyla-Vell, Venom and Nova.
You will choose and control your own team of two characters, tagging between them mid-fight with the Cosmic Swap system to capitalise on their distinct superpowers and special attacks to deal devastating damage.
With support for four-player drop-in/drop-out local and online co-op with crossplay, you can unlock stellar power-ups and rewards while experimenting with different duos and bashing your way through locales and nemeses from the Marvel universe.
Marvel Cosmic Invasion will be released digitally on the Nintendo eShop for both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 worldwide in Winter 2025.
