With Marshadow having now been discovered in Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon, it has been revealed that the Mythical Pokémon will also appear in Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You!.
In a new trailer for the 20th-anniversary movie, the Gloomdweller Pokémon is briefly seen appearing in Ash’s shadow.
The movie’s synopsis reveals that it will help guide Ash and Pikachu to Ho-Oh, which, soon after they had become partners in Pallet Town, they saw the Rainbow Pokémon soar overhead and promised to each another that they would meet it one day.
On their journey, Ash and Pikachu meet fellow Trainers Majoto and Soji, learning a legend that those who carry a Rainbow Wing and meet with Ho-Oh will become Heroes of the Rainbow.
It won’t be an easy task with Team Rocket’s Jesse, James and Meowth hot on their trail, as well as a powerful Pokémon awaiting them at their journey’s end.
Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You! will release in cinemas across Japan on July 15th.
