Nintendo and Camelot have released a new software update for Mario Tennis Aces, which sees the intense tennis game now on version 2.0.0.

As revealed in last week’s Nintendo Direct presentation, this has added support for voice chat with the Nintendo Switch Online app and the new Co-op Challenge mode.

When playing in all online modes with the Nintendo Switch Online app open – whether that be Online Tournament in Tournament, Co-op Challenge or Online Play in Free Play – you will receive a prompt asking if you would like to join voice chat with your opponent.

The first Co-op Challenge will be Boo Hunt, which is available until 9am on Thursday 11th October. You will team up with friends (online or offline) or find other players online to work as a group of four to achieve challenge goals. If you are successful, you can acquire three costumes for Boo – which are different coloured visors.

Other than that, the extensive update has been broken down on the Nintendo Support page, which is worth reading through for details on changes to the Shot System, Character Abilities, Additional Settings, Adventure Mode, Swing Mode, Online Play and more.
