Mario & Sonic at Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games adds online multiplayer


Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games formed part of today’s Nintendo Direct, with Satoru Iwata revealing that the Wii U exclusive will see the inclusion of online multiplayer for the first time in the series.

Players will be play four events against online opponents, which include Ski Cross, Snowboard Cross and Short Track Speed Skating, whilst a Winter Sports Champion Race will push your skills to the limit even further. This wondrous Dream Event combines Skiing, Ice Skating, Bobsleigh and Snowboarding into a single event.

Every time that you successfully secure yourself a medal online, these will see points awarded to your home country which will be visible through online rankings – which is sure to see some healthy competition from around the globe.

Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games will release for Wii U across Europe on November 8th, and North America on November 15th.
