That roadmap includes post-launch plans for three downloadable content updates, the first, the Tower of Doooom, is coming in early 2023 and will see Madame Bwahstrella request help from Mario, Rabbid Peach and their friends to clear out her multi-dimensional tower and rescue Spawny. This will “will add a new combat game mode in which players will face highly strategic battles as they make their way to the top of the Tower.”
The second downloadable content is scheduled to release in mid 2023, and will see the heroes “confront a mysterious foe on a new, enchanting planet.” You will be able to explore new environments that are “filled with fun characters to meet, secrets to discover, but also new enemies to face.”
The last downloadable content will arrive in late 2023, and will see Rabbid Mario, Rabbid Peach and Rayman join forces in what is promised to be “a surprising, fun and epic adventure.” You will be able to control Rayman and follow the game’s Heroes as they explore a new and mysterious place.
We enjoyed our time with the main game, concluding in our review: “It isn’t without its missteps, but, on the whole, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope can be seen as a triumph of galactic proportions. Bolder and more daring in its vision for the unexpected collision of its Heroes compared with the original game, it is the exploration of its planets and the cosmic-powered combat system that underpin what amounts to an exceptional experience. It may perhaps be lacking the heart of its predecessor, but it certainly isn’t short on heroics.”
Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope is now available at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide.
