Ubisoft has released a new software update for Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle that introduces a free local Versus Mode, that will let two players put their tactical skills to the test against one another.

Whether sharing a pair of Joy-Con controllers or using Nintendo Switch Pro Controllers, each player will freely pick three different heroes from the eight that are available in the main game. Each character will have three unique pre-sets to choose between, with specific statistics and skills that will let you plan your strategy.

Battlefields will see random bonus items thrown in, that can lend your characters the chance to perform additional actions, deal double damage, and other advantages once collected, and each battle can be customised with various settings – such as adding a timer, limiting the number of turns, or removing all items.

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle is now available exclusively for Nintendo Switch worldwide.
