Prepare to hitch a new ride, with Nintendo having confirmed that three Mercedes-Benz karts will become available as free add-on content for Mario Kart 8.

Set to arrive across Europe, North America and Japan on Wednesday 27th August, players will be able to race behind the wheel of a 1930s W25 Silver Arrow, a 1950s 300 SL Roadster, and the new Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class.

The collaboration with the German car manufacturer was announced in May, and marks the first time that branded vehicles have appeared within Nintendo’s iconic karting series.

To celebrate the arrival, Nintendo will host an online worldwide Mercedes Cup tournament between 27th August – 23rd September 2014, which will be located within the game’s online tournament section.

Mario Kart 8 is now available worldwide, exclusively for Wii U.
