Mario Kart 8 surpasses 2 million copies sold worldwide

Nintendo have confirmed that Mario Kart 8 has sold-through more than 2 million copies worldwide, that number achieved in less than a month since launch.

That information was shared by Nintendo’s Genyo Takeda, who was speaking on behalf of Satoru Iwata at today’s 74th Annual General Meeting of Shareholders.

It’s an incredible achievement for the company to celebrate, after so many had written off the Wii U’s recovery after slow, if not steady, sales since the console launched in November 2012. Now they just need to continue to build and capitalise on such momentum.
