Mario Kart 8 maintains second place in UK charts

In the week following launch, Mario Kart 8 has been able to maintain second place within the UK sales chart.

That’s reason to celebrate, but GfK Chart-Track noted an 81 percent fall in sales for chart topper Watch_Dogs, which means that Nintendo’s kart racer must have suffered a similar fate.

It has still been attributed to boosting Wii U hardware sales by 666 percent, and shifted 1.2 million copies worldwide over launch weekend alone.

Elsewhere, newcomer Tomodachi Life was the third highest new entry, with the quirky life sim placing fifteenth.
