Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Update Version 1.4.0 Now Available

Nintendo has released a new software update for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, which introduces language support for Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, and Korean.

There was also an issue that was identified where the background music wouldn’t kick in after players reached the finish line, which has now been resolved, and Nintendo warns that those that download the new update will not be able to play locally or over a LAN connection with those on an earlier version.

Changes Made In Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Update Version 1.4.0

  • Language support for Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, and Korean has now been implemented.
    • You can change languages in Settings on your console.
  • An issue has been resolved that prevented background music from playing after you reach the finish line.
  • When you download update data (Ver.1.4.0), you will no longer be able to engage in local play or LAN play with those still using Version 1.2.1 or earlier.
