Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has used a Super Horn to avoid a Blue Shell, crossing the line in first place within this week’s UK all-format software chart.

It is the first game that Nintendo has released at retail to secure a number one spot since 2011’s Pokémon White on Nintendo DS, and the first Mario game to achieve such chart success since Mario Kart Wii way back in 2008.

With Nintendo Switch stock once again becoming available at retailers, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild saw a 68 percent increase in sales week-on-week to return to the top five. Puyo Puyo Tetris placed No. 18, with Nintendo Switch copies contributing most to the overall tally.

As for other new releases, Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 debuted at No. 2, Bandai Namco’s Little Nightmares arrived in No. 4 and Outlast Trinity landed at No. 14.
