In a new McDonald’s commercial that already sees the fast food chain seemingly gearing up for Valentine’s Day next month, an unlikely pair make an appearance.
The commercial, which revolves around the slogan “Choose Lovin’,” archenemies set aside their differences over various menu options. Whether that be Dorothy and the Wicked Witch of the West, The Smurfs and Gargamel, Grumpy Cat and his owner, or, somewhat disturbingly, Freddy and Jason, Nintendo fans will spot Mario making amends with Bowser by gifting a potted Piranha Plant.
It’s a minor spotlight for the Mushroom Kingdom, but it’s nice to see Nintendo rubbing shoulders with other lustrous characters.
