Clear River Games and City Connection have confirmed a release date for Mamorukun ReCurse! on Nintendo Switch.
This has seen the developer remaster Mamorukun Curse!, the vertical-scrolling shoot ’em up coming to the portable home console complete with its Story Mode, Arcade Mode, Challenge Courses, alternative costumes, all previously released downloadable content characters and a new Gallery Mode.
You play as Mamoru, who, after his untimely death, wakes up in The Netherworld. Soon meeting Mayuno, Kinya and Beniko, the energetic Fululu appears to explain that they are the only hope of stopping the invasion of darkness that threatens to consume The Netherworld.
Curse Bullets can be used to alter the difficulty of the game and reap the rewards, whether that be wiping out smaller enemies, clearing projectiles from the screen or powering up larger enemies to make them harder to defeat. The greater the risk, the higher your score can reach.
The publisher has outlined the game’s key features, which include:
- An arcade classic, ReCursed! for modern platforms.
- Widescreen support and modern twin-stick controls.
- Use Curse Bullets to adjust the game’s difficulty on the fly!
- Story Mode, Arcade Mode, or Netherworld Adventures – a set of challenge courses to sharpen your skills? The choice is yours!
- Multiple characters, alternate costumes, and an extensive Gallery Mode!
- Original compositions by Yosuke Yasui, plus arranged music from previous releases.
Mamorukun ReCurse! will be released digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 25 September 2025.
