Following the success that Zumba Fitness is currently receiving, I didn’t think it would take too long for a sequel to arrive.

Today, Majesco Entertainment proved my thoughts right, announcing that they are to release Zumba Fitness 2 for Wii later this year and for an “another-to-be announced platform in early 2012.”

You’ll be able to enjoy an array of 30 hot new music tracks alongside electrifying choreography, a huge variety of new dance styles and brand new arenas. World renowned Zumba creator Beto and celebrity instructors Tanya Beardsley and Gina Grant also guide you through each exhilarating routine ranging in style from Merengue and Samba to Indian and Latin Pop.

Developed by Zoe Mode, the sequel will feature an all-new progress tracker that adds up calories burned, grades dance styles, and displays trophies, stats and overall rank. Playing in Single Song, Full Class or Zumba Party modes, players will have a blast with this unique dance fitness experience that shapes, tones and transforms their bodies while leaving them with an endorphin high.

“We’ve seen an overwhelming demand for the next iteration of the franchise and I can promise you that Zumba Fitness 2’s new and improved features will challenge Zumba enthusiasts and entice new followers to join the party,” stated Jesse Sutton, Chief Executive Officer of Majesco Entertainment. “The Zumba Fitness franchise of video games connects the exhilarating Zumba dance workouts loved by millions with uniquely interactive console platforms that are accessible and fun for consumers of all ages.”
