Koei Tecmo and GUST Studios have announced that Fairy Tail has suffered a delay on Nintendo Switch.

“I am truly sorry for Fairy Tail’s delay, and the inconvenience caused to our fans, partners and stakeholders who are looking forward to this title,” explains producer Keisuke Kikuchi.

“Please allow us to take further time to polish the game to ensure it is as high quality as possible, so we can offer you a truly immersive experience.

“We will be working hard to enhance the magic effects, event scene effects, improving the game balance and more! We will talk about the improvements in more detail in the coming months.

“This delay will allow us to ensure we provide you [with] a much more satisfying game. Thank you for your understanding!”

With the chance to build your five-character dream team from more than 15 playable characters, you will adventure across the Kingdom of Fiore in your quest to raise Fairy Tail to become the best guild in the region.

Those characters include the fan-favourite user of Heavenly Body Magic, Jellal Fernandes from Crime Sorcière; the Drawing Card of Fairy Tail, Mirajane Strauss; and the Thunder Dragon Slayer and grandchild of Makarov, Laxus Dreyar.

As your chosen characters fight together in the same party, their bonds gradually strengthen and their friendship level increases. This will see special conversations play out, which include original dialogue that has been written specifically for the game.

You will also have access to enhanced attacks once stronger bonds have been built, such as the Magic Chain ability lasting for a longer period of time. Whereas playing through the original character stories will raise your party member’s Character Rank, unlocking new battle skills as your reward.

Fairy Tail will release for Nintendo Switch in Europe on 25th June 2020 and across North America on 26th June 2020.
