Cave Monsters has announced that Lord Winklebottom Investigates will release on Nintendo Switch, a classic murder mystery point-and-click adventure set in the 1920s.

You will join Lord Winklebottom, the world’s foremost giraffe detective, and his steadfast companion Dr. Frumple. When an unexpected invitation to the isolated Isle of Barghest results in the grisly murder of their old friend, they must race against time to identify their killer.

You must put your neck on the line, working to uncover clues, interrogate suspects, and solve puzzles to crack the case, catch the killer, and uncover the horrifying dark secret that lies at the heart of the island.

The game’s solo developer Charlotte Sutherland has started a Kickstarter campaign to help fund the game’s development, looking to secure £25,000 within the next month to cover voice acting, the soundtrack, programming assistance, and additional localization.

“Lord Winklebottom is homage to detective stories, particularly those set in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, such as Sherlock Holmes, Agatha Christie, and the Paul Temple mysteries,” Sutherland explains.

“I’m really excited to bring the strange world of Lord Winklebottom and its bizarre cast of anthropomorphic animals to life, and can’t wait for people to get the chance to play it”.

Lord Winklebottom Investigates will release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide in Q2 2020.
