Live-action Tetris movie in the works

In unlikely news, Threshold Entertainment have announced that they have partnered with The Tetris Company to produce a live-action film based on the 80s classic.

We’re not entirely sure why either, and it feels even more nonsensical when we learn about the plot.

“It’s a very big, epic sci-fi movie,” Threshold Entertainment CEO Larry Kasanoff explains. “This isn’t a movie with a bunch of lines running around the page. We’re not giving feet to the geometric shapes.”

Kasanoff has seen success, having helped to transition brutal fighter Mortal Kombat to the big screen. Meanwhile, over the past few years Threshold have worked on digital production projects for Marvel, LEGO and Star Wars.

“Brands are the new stars of Hollywood,” he continued. “We have a story behind Tetris which makes it a much more imaginative thing. We certainly have the canvas for location-based entertainment based on the epicness. What you [will] see in Tetris is the teeny tip of an iceberg that has intergalactic significance.”

Yeah…
