The Pokémon Company and Legendary Entertainment have revealed the Pokémon Detective Pikachu logo at the 2018 Pokémon World Championships.

After The Pokémon Company president Tsunekazu Ishihara welcomed the live-action movie’s director Rob Letterman to the stage, he revealed the logo before actors Justice Smith and Kathryn Newton joined him.

The big surprise came in that those in the audience had the chance to record crowd chants that will be used in the movie. These will be used in a scene where Pikachu must battle Charizard, seeing the audience cheer, boo and chant “Pi-ka-chu!”, “Cha-ri-zard!” and “Critical Hit!”

Pokémon Detective Pikachu will premiere at cinema screens around the world on 10th May 2019.
