Lexis Numérique have today released the first gameplay video and artwork from Taxi Journey, which will see release on Wii U.

Announced back in July 2013, it takes inspiration from games such as Limbo and Machinarium, as well as renowned film directors like Tim Burton and Hayao Miyazaki, combining a unique universe with inventive gameplay features.

The Kickstarter project is looking to secure $130,000, of which they’re currently sat at $18,338 with 25 days to go.

It follows taxi driver Gino, a man of few words who can only afford to buy a car with no engine or passenger seat. Therefore, he must resort to carrying his customers on his back and pedals his car.

Having encountered a mysterious young girl called Zoe, he ends up journeying to a strange, faraaway land, and together they will face unique situations and meet extraordinary characters.

For more information, you can catch the gameplay video below and be sure to check out the Kickstarter page too.
