Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment have confirmed that LEGO Dimensions will draw on The Simpsons, Doctor Who, Ghostbusters, Portal, Jurassic World, Midway Arcade, LEGO Chima and Scooby Doo. The news comes weeks after building instructions for the Back to the Future Level Pack had leaked their existence.
The publisher also shared another trailer for this latest LEGO adventure from TT Games, that merges physical brick building with interactive gameplay.
This revealed that every LEGO vehicle and gadget can be physically built into three different objects that each do entirely different things. When players earn a building achievement in-game, they will receive in-game instructions that guide you through rebuilding your LEGO bricks to physically rebuild them.
As an example, the LEGO Dimensions Starter Pack contains the bricks required to build the LEGO Batmobile that lets you activate accelerator switches. But the Batmobile can be rebuilt into the LEGO Batblaster with Sonar Smash, a gun that breaks LEGO sonar bricks, and the LEGO Sonic Batray, which adds a special missile barrage attack. You can also fuse an upgraded to the LEGO Toy Tag, which will allow you to take it, and any unlocked abilities, into a friend’s game.
LEGO Dimensions will release for Wii U across North America on September 27th, and in Europe on September 29th.
