Perplexed as to why there isn’t a movie based on The Legend of Zelda already in existence, SmashBits have taken matters into their own hands by launching a Kickstarter campaign.
The Parody of Zelda, a feature length animated parody motion picture, takes inspiration from Family Guy’s Blue Harvest promising to take viewers on a “hilarious epic journey through the story of Ocarina of Time.”
Dismissing live-action as “either very cheesy or very expensive,” SmashBits will instead turn to animation to deliver “awesome fight scenes, epic landscapes, and lots of details for a fraction of the cost.”
With more than four years experience, they’re looking for $225,000 worth of backing for the project that they estimate will take a year to complete. Legality worries are discussed on the Kickstarter page, and if you’re interested in learning more feel free to take a look!
