Bloober Team has announced that Layers of Fear: The Final Masterpiece Edition is in development for Nintendo Switch 2.
In this first-person psychological horror game, you play as a disturbed painter attempting to complete his magnum opus while wandering around a Victorian mansion that reveals secrets from his past.
The game was ported to Nintendo Switch under the name Layers of Fear: Legacy back in 2018, while, after releasing Layers of Fear 2 the developer, somewhat confusingly, created a second Unreal Engine 5-powered sequel also called Layers of Fear.
With the developer having not offered any further information at the time of writing, other than describing the port as “a complete edition of the iconic Layers of Fear series,” it is unclear whether it is the original game or its sequel that is coming to Nintendo Switch 2.
Layers of Fear: The Final Masterpiece Edition will be released digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2 worldwide in 2025.
