Latest Pokémon game hinted for release later this year

During an interview to be found within the latest issue of Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu, Tsunekazu Ishihara, CEO of The Pokémon Company, has hinted that fans of the franchise could look forward to a new title later in the year.

Ishihara commented that the company had projects under way, beyond Pokédex 3D and Super Pokémon Scramble, that are sure to surprise players. Whilst initial hopes may immediately be placed on a forthcoming entry for Nintendo 3DS, his further comments suggest that both Nintendo DS and 3DS owners will be able to look forward to their latest project.

He remarked that The Pokémon Company hopes to continue to cater for Nintendo DS owners, whilst also showing how the series can be expanded on Nintendo 3DS.

Interconnectivity between the two would obviously be a huge bonus, but what are you hoping for with this next instalment?

[Thanks, Andriasang]
